Since the late 1990īs
contemporary realism has recovered an important place in the scope of
international art, mostly in some western European countries, as well as in the
United States. As I see it, contemporary realism mixes deep concepts of old
pictorial alchemies and contemporary rules of design and composition,
reflecting both, important icons and scenes that form part of present life.
Particularly, I have found in contemporary realism, my better pictorial scene.
In it, I can combine everything that attracts me from the classics, with
compositions originated in modern graphic design. By means of contemporary
realism I can recreate as much in daily objects, as well as in nudes that
emerge from the clear dark flamenco of the XIV the century with more
photographic compositions, decidedly originated from my visual formation as a
designer.
In contemporary realism, I recreate myself, because I believe that it is by
excellence the mean through which artists and drawers will recover the value of
the outline, the importance of knowing how to draw, the knowledge of
proportions, the values of lights and shadows, of color treatment, and among
all, the challenge to face what we see and transform it into an expression of
how we feel it. The real value of that which so many artists through centuries
made an effort to discover and to leave us a legacy of an incalculable an
esthetic and spiritual value.
